Conference Locations
The conference and all collateral activities will take place in the center of Siena, mostly at the Santa Chiara Lab (via di Val di Montone, 1). Depending on the number of registered participants, parts of the conference program may be relocated in the nearby Palazzo del Rettorato (via Banchi di Sotto, 55) and Palazzo San Niccolò (via Roma, 56), a few minutes walking from Santa Chiara.
Accessibility
The municipality of Siena has a reference website, SienaAccessibile.
Information on accessibility for the locations that will be uses to host the conference is available at the following addresses: Santa Chiara Lab and Complesso San Niccolò.
The auditorium in the rectorate building can be reached using a lift.
For specific requests (or for issues encountered during the conference) please write an e-mail to the following address: aiucd2023@unisi.it.
Accommodation Facilities
Many accommodation facilities in Siena are available, from hotels of different categories to Bed & Breakfasts and Air B&B solutions. The guidelines of the University do not allow us to offer participants suggestions on where to stay, nor there are agreements with any structure. It’s however advised to book sufficiently in advance: Siena is a city where the tourist flow is particularly high, especially in the periods linked to the Palio, which takes place on the 2nd of July and on the 16th of August, including the weeks that precede it.
Visiting Siena
Siena offers exhibitions of cultural interest during the whole year: among the most interesting locations, the monumental complex of the Duomo, the museum area of Santa Maria della Scala, and the civic Museum of the Palazzo Pubblico (City Hall).
Information on events, exhibitions, and places to visit is available in the Culture section of the Municipality of Siena’s web site, and on the SienaComunica portal. It is also possible to consult a virtual guide of the city.
