We are reaching out to those of you who have crossed paths with John in the course of his life to ask for a contribution, however small, to help us organizing this symposium in his memory. John was a brilliant scientist who left a mark in the field of vaccines with his seminal discoveries on host-pathogen interactions that contributed to the development of new vaccines. John was also an inspiring and caring mentor to post-docs and PhD students, a stimulating lecturer and last, but not least, a good and generous person. This symposium, with an outstanding faculty that will discuss the latest developments in John’s lifelong interest -vaccines-, will honour his achievements and keep his memory alive.
