Simone Dell’Acqua obtained the degree in Chemistry from the University of Pavia (Italy) in 2006. In January 2011, he obtained his PhD degree in Chemistry from the New University of Lisbon (Portugal). He has been appointed as Assistant Professor in November 2011 and as Associate Professor in July 2022 in General and Inorganic Chemistry at the Dept. of Chemistry, University of Pavia. His scientific interests are in the field of Bioinorganic Chemistry, in the activity of copper- and iron- enzymes. More recently, his research has been directed toward the understanding of the molecular basis of neurodegenerative diseases, with particular emphasis on of the metal-dependent oxidative processes.
