Fabio Zobi’s research group focuses on medicinal and bioinorganic chemistry, particularly the design and synthesis of transition-metal complexes for biological applications. Emphasis is placed on rhenium-based coordination and organometallic compounds as antimicrobial and anticancer agents, carbon monoxide-releasing molecules, and multifunctional theranostic systems. By integrating synthetic inorganic chemistry with advanced characterization and biological evaluation, the group seeks to establish structure–activity relationships that enable the rational design of metal complexes for chemical biology and medicine.
