Matteo Tegoni

Matteo Tegoni is Associate Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Parma, where he obtained the habilitation as Full Professor in 2018. He has been visiting student at the University of Leiden (with Jan Reedijk), at the Universidade Tecnica de Lisboa (with Amelia Santos Seabra), and visiting researcher at the University of Michigan (with Vincent Pecoraro).  His primary interests are in the field the thermodynamic study of the formation in solution of transition metal complexes with peptides and proteins, and in the study of the self-assembly of metallacrowns in solution. Currently, his major interests focus on the development of artificial metalloproteins using the Spy construct, with the objective of isolating artificial metalloenzymes for the production of hydrogen, and new dyes for molecular bioimaging. He has been coordinator of EU and bilateral Italy- USA projects and he delivered invited lectures at international conferences on bioinorganic chemistry.
