Professor Łukasz John is the Head of the Biomaterials Chemistry Research Group at the Faculty of Chemistry, University of Wrocław, Poland. His main research interests lie in organosilicon chemistry, focusing on the synthesis of functional organic–inorganic hybrid materials, particularly those based on polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxanes (POSS), incompletely condensed POSS cages (IC-POSS), and double-decker silsesquioxanes (DDSQ). In his work, these compounds are explored as potential biomaterials for controlled tissue engineering, as a new class of ligands in coordination chemistry, and as nanobuilding blocks for advanced hybrid architectures.
